September 14 War of 1812 Washington falls...For all those people who wanted to see the paintings of the British Capturing Washington D.C. in 1814 (war of 1812). Both are the Brits burning down the white house. Apparently they also set fire the rest of the capitol. In one pic, the White house is on fire, and the Americans are scrambling troops in the front to defend the burning building (pretty useless lol) September 03 Almonte CompetitionWe did good this time around in competition. We came in 2nd place for the piping. Overall we were placed 5th. LOL!!!! Anyways, both ensemble score sheets are being re-evaluated. Hope they fix that soon!! July 24 Suicide Bomber Kills Black Watch SoldierOn Saturday Cpl. Jason Warren was killed in action by a suicide bomber. Aged 29, he had 3 weeks left in his tour before he was coming home. May he rest in peace.
1) He will arriving in Trenton on Thursday.
2) Funeral Service is on August 2nd at the Regimental Chruch.
3) Internment takes place on August 3rd at the National Military Cemetary.
HMCS MontrealOn thursday the 27th July, Pipe Major Cameron Stevens assigned me as Duty Piper onboard the patrol frigate. It will leave Trois Rivieres to Montreal by the St Laurence river, at should arrive around 16:00hrs.

July 05 Black Watch Competition Band!Its that time of year. Booze, bagpipes, highland dancers. Need I say more!!! Im glad to hear the Watch finally competing this year. Even more so that "they who shalt not be named" are not competing with us. Maybe cause their not Black Watch, or maybe theyve lost their way. Either way backstabbers and alike arent gonna be wearing the uniform. Thats a fitting end isnt it?
In other news, were sounding great. After a week at the St Andrew's College of Piping and Drumming, weve got our tone up!! New tricks here and there and new reeds! Just to show those who think we sound bad guess again. Canada day we sounded grade 3. No doubt about it!
Lastly BOOOOOOO!!! on Portugual for beating England...

May 09 Black Watch Slaps City Hall in the Face...Last Sunday we stepped off for our annual church parade. Our C.O. MacKay told the police officer we were marching on sherbrooke. The right turn was ordered and we struck in with the 3/4 marches. Later that day we found out city hall was all upset. Well too fucking bad for you. Last time I checked this parade is made up of combatants, war heros and alike. Its not like the gay parade where men and woman put on a rated R show while children are watching. LOL!!! Further that weve been marching the route for 74 years passing historical regimental locations. Either way, city hall asked the police who gave the ok to break the permit. They havent answered back since.

They sounded like the best reeds out there... Little did I know that 75 percent of the people that got them, didnt know how to use them. I asked for help, but even the grade one pipers couldnt help me. So here I am stuck with these crappy reeds. If you like reeds for durability, these will beat anything out there... But you gotta figure out how to use them first. (not for begginner pipers). These reeds make a metal humming sound thats very distinctive. When I first got mine going, it sounded like a chevy starting up. If you got em, everyone will know its you. Their louder than most reeds, and are made of metal parts, and a very durable tougue. If you get these set, theyll never have to be touched again, ever! Price range: $125-$180 CAN.
